I have run across a 1991 40 hp Johnson VRO that is in like new condition. The fine folks here have helped me in the past so here I am again with some new questions. I am trying to find an owners manual, I know how to order the service manual but I am looking for set up information and maintenience information. I have read the info that Seahorse wrote on the VRO and it was quite helpful, but I think the ownwers manual would be a help as well.
I cleaned out the oil tank and hose, so I could start with fresh oil, pumped the primer bulb to remove air from the line before connecting to motor, then squeezed a few more times before starting. My question is..does this oil bulb need to be pumped before each start of the motor? Are there any other tricks to keep this system working well. Your input is greatly appreciated.
