I just rebuilt this motor and when I torn it down a pin came out of the harness from the boat to the motor at the sealed connector I cut the connector and thought I got the right pin and wire solderd but I have no spark, are there any other things I should look for or any other ways to repair the connector or just buy a new harness and move on. It was running when I tore it down so I'm almost curtain the harness is the problem but just checking!

1st with no spark check the kill wires, black yellow. if the harness is long enough, it can be wire direct, taking the plug out. wire colors should match. or you can use bullet connectors. on each wire.

I don't think I have any kill wires but the key switch and the motor turns over so I guess I got the wrong wire in the plug or pull more than one out without knowing. Thanks for the reply.

Oh one other thing I did pull a pin out of the connector on the stator and the timing base but I'm sure I got them back OK (I think) this wouldnt leave me without spark would it?

yes, seeing the stator generates the electricity for it to fire. the black yellow wires run in the harness to the key switch and back to the motor to kill it.
