A friend of mine has a 1991 70 hp johnson and yesterday he lost a cylinder on his motor. He would like to overhaul engine and his question is can the cylinder sleeve be replaced or does he have to bore cylinder if so can he bore just the problem cylinder. We could find cylinder sleeves for other models but not for the 1991 70 hp thanks for the help

If it's not a sleeved motor, you can bore one cyl oversize and ring for it. Check ring sizes and see if it cleans up before you hit the largest. I haven't tried myself but have read threads of success stories.
Good luck

There are .020, .030 and .040 oversize pistons for that motor. If it wont clean up at .040 it can be resleeved, no problem.

A wild guess -- the middle cylinder, right?
