1991 Bayliner Capri Canvas

Does anyone have any advice on how to stretch my canvas for my Capri. The guy I bought the boat from never used it, nor did the previous owner. The bow cover and the camper (Bimini?) is too tight to snap into place.

The previous owner said to soak it in hot water and it should strech, but I need it to strech about 1 inch in each direction. I'd hate to buy new canvas since this is still in good shape with no holes. Is there any other ways to stretch it or any types of products to use?

My sunbrella canvas is vastly easier to snap in place when wet. I would try it wet and leave it in the sun to dry once in place.

Do I just soak them in a tub of water? If so, should I use hot water and how long of a soak?

I would go the tub route with warm water and a little soap for good measure. Give it a good 20 minutes.
