I just bought a 1991 Evinrude 150HP Tracker. The VRO has evidently been disabled but all components and lines are still there. I have a wiring diagram of that motor but it does not show the 4 wire plug that goes to the VRO. It is presently unplugged. It looks like this is a standard fuel/oil pump powered by pulses from the motor and does not need the plug for operation. Probably goes to the alarm system but I'm not sure. Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing the wiring from the VRO to wherever it goes or can someone tell me a little about it. Thanks a bunch.

OMC made two types of 150 crossflows this year, a looper and a crossflow. What model do you have? Yes, those fuel pumps will send a warning signal to the control box if there is a problem inside the pump. There is also an oil level sensor inside the remote oil tank which will warn of low oil. Both systems are typically disconnected if the owner is premixing oil with the fuel. Typically, those V6 engines will also have a vacuum switch on the side of the block which will send a warning signal if the fuel vacuum gets up to 7 inches of vacuum. This switch is separate from the pump, so it may/may not still be connected electrically.

a lot of people just pull that harness out, when they go premix.

Thanks for the info. I won't worry about it unless it gives me other problems.
