1991 Evinrude 150hp - Should I have a trim tab?

I just noticed that my motor does not have a trim tab. Is this normal? I've never had any steering issues, just noticed because I changed the water pump. The Evinrude parts website shows the plate with a trim tab. I'm a little concerned. Model #TE150GLEIS.

it should, but some people use a larger prop, and remove it for clearance. then it should have a blank plate in place of the tab.

The trim tab helps to offset torque by deflecting some of the water thrown by the propeller. Some steering systems compensate so that you don't notice the effect, but the trim tab can be very helpful if used correctly.
