Anything to look out for on these? Any opinions?
Going today to look at one and will check compression, fire, T&T, and look for lower unit leaks.
Guy says it runs great, but you never know. Boat is shot, so no water test. I didn't ask for a serial number.
He wants $500 for motor or $600 for whole rig. I may get whole thing for the trailer too.
Going to put motor on an older Carolina Skiff I bought.

Nevermind...
Went and checked it out. No spark and top cylinder was 15 psi lower than other 2.
He 'knocked off $100' LOL and I said no thanks.

Believe it or not, OMC service manuals used to say a max of 15 psi was okay between cylinders.

I don't fully understand why compression gauges read differently, but my cheap Harbor Freight gauge reads about 30 psi lower than my buddy's Snap-On.
Using that as a reference, this motor read top to bottom 75-90-90 psi. Just didn't feel good about it.
I have a 90hp johnson that's about wore out and it was 95-105 when I checked last month.

That is bad compression on all 3. I would get a different gauge and try again. A good one of those would have about 120 psi
