I've had this engine since new and for the past 10 or so years its done this, so it can't be an alarm of significance or it would've died by now. Just an annoyance.

Light chirping almost a squeak never when idling and usually around 15V it sometimes goes to 16.7 verified by digital multimeter to be correct.

If i put any load on it, trim etc. it drops to 13.7 and the chirp goes away, but only while it is under a load, hinting that it is voltage related and possibly a regulator, but i'm hesitant to purchase a 300 dollar part that cant be returned.

The sound does come thru the warning speaker so it is something engine related.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, i have the factory manual, this beep isn't an alarm at all, more of a chirp comes and goes with RPM and Voltage anything above 2500 - 2600 chirp chirp chirp and 15 VDC until voltage drops below 15 Volts then it goes away.

I'm thinking it shouldn't ever get to 15+ Volts.

You might have v leaking into the signal wire, put a meter on the signal wire at the various sensors. My first guess would be a sticky temp sensor in the head.
