So on Saturday, driving down the river at about RPM, the boats stalls and comes to a stop. Would not even try to start, acted like no power to starter. So i took off cowl and could not turn the flywheel (with spark plugs out) tilted motor up and could barely turn the prop. Heard a click, then the boat would try to start, but wouldn't budge. Got home and drained the lower unit and found about 1/2 water 1/2 or less oil, pretty obvious that it is fried. So the question is can the motor be seized up cause the lower unit is? the motor is on a fresh rebuild, around 5-7 hours on it. I'm wondering cause i cant afford to rebuild the lower unit till next spring, and i got a warranty on the power-head and don't want to wait till spring and have my warranty run out? thank you in advance for all response's

Sounds like the gearcase has to come of one way or another, so take it off. If the powerhead turns over with the gearcase off, it's the gearcase. Water mixed with the oil isn't necessarily a death sentence for the gearcase, but the prop hardly turning makes it sound likely.
