Re: 1991 Force 50 Ignition Testing
Call the coils A and B and the cylinders 1 and 2. Normally A is on 1 and B on 2. It is A on 1 that will currently/normally run the engine.

I figured out how to switch the coils and a shop confirmed they can be switched for testing. So, I replaced coil A with B so that B is on 1.

When I do this it will not run using coil B. This would lead me to think the problem is coil B, only using coil A on the other cylinder 2 will not start the engine either. This would seem to say it is the cd module since I'm using the for sure working coil.

Since one test says coil and the other says cd module I have not yet determined which component is the culprit for some reason. Maybe my testing procedure is flawed.

Can anyone comment or suggest a better way of testing these components to determine whether each is good or bad?
