I am trying to get info on how to change from vro system to mixing my own gas. I keep hearing that with that system, that would the best way to go and have fewer problems. Any info on should I or how to would be greatly app.
Thanks

Both the question (whether to disconnect or not) and the method (how to disconnect) are discussed several times per week on this forum. You'll probably find yoru answers by searching.

Here's something to read while you make up your mind:

Just my thoughts but I think you need 2 pumps if you are going to premix.

I read the art. and that took a load off my mind. Sounds like I should leave well enough alone but maybe change out the pump this winter. I bought the boat used a couple of months ago and have been worried about this system. Only had premix before this one. Thanks for the info.

Re: 1991 johnson 225 vro

there is the new mixing pump, OMS, that i would change to, if i did not want to mix.

there is also, a new premix pump that replaces the VRO,VRO2, and OMS pumps.
Vro Replacement Fuel Pump Kit "no Oil"
(for Using Oil/gas Pre-mix In Fuel Tank)

#5007422 it is in the $300 range.

if you want to premix this is the correct pump to use. this has come out since the article was written.
