1991 monterey 206 scr 21'

im running a mer 5.7l with alpha 1 gen 2 -1.5 gear ratio with a 14x17 prop now ..the prop seems to cavitate and wash out when i try to go faster (not even getting on secondaries in carb) or when making turns at speed...its a 3 blade aluminum prop... i want to prop it mainly for towing ski tubes but also want some speed the engine is rated at 4200 wot what would you guys suggest????

Hover, I show that motor should turn between 4,200 and 4,600 RPM at WOT, can you verify this.

the air cleaner cover states 4200 wot thats about all i can tell you right now

You should be doing about 50 MPH with that boat, if you have a speed please tell me and also is it GPS.

sorry dont have a speed never can get going fast enough to get on the carbs secondaries the prop seems to wash out and stop pushing...

In my opinion you have spun the rubber insert in the hub of the prop. To check this use a marks a lot and mark from the outer hub through the rubber insert all the way to the other side of the metal hub. Then run the prop and see if the marks are still located in the same place.
