1992 15hp Evinrude Throttle grip removal

Ok I give up LOL How do you remove the throttle grip section off the tiller handle??? It appears that the Helix portion is broken and I need to replace it. But I cant find how you take that portion apart.. Help

I have this parts breakdownb but it does not show hot to take it apart.. I cant figure it out and I can usualy figure it out LOL This one has me puzzled.

On the plain part of the grip two holes on opposite sides with tabs in them. Press those tabs in(they are part of the helix) and the grip should pull off.

Hmmm cause those tabs are broke off and it still wont come off LOL Must be stuck??
