My motor starts fast, but goes dead like running out of gas. Carb has been cleaned, new fuel lines, new fuel pump.Primer bulb stays hard, I don't think there is a air leak or gas leak. I have been working on this for a month. I feel like an iddiot, not being able to solve this. Any suggestion or ideas greatly appreciated, i am at wits end. Thanks guys

When it dies, will it re-start immediately? If not, check for spark. If spark won't jump 1/4+" from both leads in open air, you have an ignition issue. If spark is fine..I would assume a fuel delivery issue...and then try squirting a bit of fuel in carb throats when it begins to die - if it helps, then fuel starvation.. if it dies even faster, then flooding condition. Perform tests and post back w/results. Good luck!

spark test with an adjustable tester, like kbait suggests. Would test compression as well. That carb has a idle mix needle, and might need adjustment. Starting point is probably 2 1/2 turns open, or whatever the manual suggests, then adjust clockwise initially.

The squeeze bulb shouldn't stay hard after the motor starts, but it shouldn't collapse either.

Try squeezing the bulb as it starts to die.
