I have been chasing a loss of power and now a miss at WOT and think it could be the coil.
I have recently changed the cap, rotor, wires, plugs and filter.
The engine does not use any oil but does have a random miss when cold.
Carb is adjusted for best idle at 750 rpm in neutral.

Does the coil need to be one with internal resistor or external?
was going to try a MSD any one have a part number?

Thanks
Joe.

Best to look up part number. Might have a number on the old coil. Might even say on the old coil if it is a internal resistor coil. But the resistor was there to cut the voltage down to 9 volts to the points.

Check the voltage at the coil. I doubt there is a voltage drop there since you have the TB IV.
