Hello

I'm getting ready to start up my outboard after having rebuilt it, and I can't remember where the negative coming from the battery is supposed to hook up to on the motor. Anyone know?

Thanks a lot

Bolts to the engine block, just like the pic in your Manual, Gimli.

remember double the oil during breakin. it will smoke, that is better than ruining a rebuild.

Re: 1992 40 horse Johnson

Thanks for the replies. I did find the grounding point on the block..my Johnson manual never did say exactly where it landed that i could find...just always had it running to ground.

I am running 25:1 on the startup. I checked my compression yesterday and had 135 on both cylinders, but I can't get it to idle without goosing the carbs slightly. I'm going to read through some of the other postings on here and see if I can get some further info. My manual is talking about timing it with a test prop and a lot of equipment I do not have.

Thanks again!!
