Hi Guys!
I have been doing a massive amount of reading and troubleshooting. Here is the deal:
1992 TE60TLENE Three Cyl 60 HP. I bought this from a friend and it had been sitting for 3-5 years. I have read almost every piece of info on this site that should help me. I have ordered a manual, but won't be here till next week.I
I have eliminated the kill circuit, pulled the rect. wires and spin it, pulled the main harness and spun it, and still nothing. I have check resistance on the Stator and it shows 780 ohms. All I have found here is 500 ohms. Does this mean it is bad? I have checked the coil resistance and it is right on. They are all three in the window. Cranking speed is fine. Tried it with plugs out to speed it up. Still no spark. The guy I bought it from said he had never had any spark problems. BTW, I have already cleaned fuel tank, installed new fuel lines, and diassembled and cleaned carbs. Replaced water pump. I thought I was just about ready to fish, now I am bummed! Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to buy a stator if it's not the problem, but I will if you guys tell me that's it.

Thanks, Eric

Check the bracket bolts that the powerpack is mounting on. If bolts loose pack will not have ground. Check power pack wires for bare spots. Check power pack ground wire. What color are the wires you are checking on the stator. Charge coil about 850 ohms.

Brown to brown is 790 ohms. The orange to orange is 394 ohms. I will pull everything and check the wires this weekend. Work sure gets in the way of the important stuff.
I did finally get my manual and it states for my model number, 790 is ok for the 12 amp coil. On to the wire inspection.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Take a good look at the pack ground wires, and bracket bolts.

OK, I checked all the wiring, looks ok. I did the power coil out put test and getting 150 volts instead of 250. I guess that means the stator is bad. Engine was running four years ago when it went into storage. Do they just go bad over time? This is so strange to me. I work on farm tractors 50 and 60 years old, they fire right up. None of this makes sense to me.

Thanks, Eric

Installed the stator, still no spark. Coils test good. I am completely stumped. I went by the book and it led me to the stator. This is really getting frustrating. This Saturday I am going to start all over with the book I guess.

Guys,
Something that came to me in a dream.
Brown lead from stator produces 125 volts. Brown/ yel lead 0. Is it possible the flywheel (magnets) is the problem? The old stator tested the same way and that is why I replaced it.

Re: 1992 60 HP No spark

Stator wires appeared to be grounded on powerhead, fixed that, still nothing.

How many hours would a boat shop charge to troubleshoot this?

HELP!!!!!!!
