My problem started with power trim clicking. I crossed the up with screw driver and it works. Tried the down and got sparks. But, when pushing down button, the 3rd selnoid clicks. So, I took hires off. The red wire hit the starter and sent sparks flying. Now I have not power to key switch or trim. Have power to lights, horn, etc...

Help. And please think about why power would work perfect a week ago. Then no down-clicking today.

Re: 1992 C115 Yamaha Power Trim Click

Fixed the power lose.

The power trim has 3 solenoids.
Top is up. Works when I cross red and black with screwdriver.
Middle is down. Sparks fly on cross.
But, Bottom one is the one that make clicking sound.

Can I replace middle one only? Should I replace bottom two?

Thanks

you have two trim solinoids and a starter solinoid. the trim is normally grounded so if you touch the 10GA blue or greens with 12V positive you pop fuses,
the small 18GA blue and greens are activation wires and carry only a few amps.
the solinoid on the bottom with the 18GA brown wire is the stater solinoid.
your power loss is most likly a bad battery cable and/or a blown fuse.
