I have a 1992 four winns, bought as a dead boat project, has an OMC engine and cobra outdrive. My trim sensor works(confirmed by moving the arm makes the gauge move like it should), but the little arm on it does NOT touch any part of the outdrive so it does not register anything as the outdrive goes up and down. It seems like the arm is supposed to be connected to something on the outdrive or it is supposed to be rubbing against it or something but it does not. There is no adjustment(what minor adjustment that it can make) that makes it touch anything. I have seen this exact problem on several other forums and there was no final answer. Can someone with the same outdrive get some pics or something of their working sensor and arm placement so I can get this working?

With the drive up, the arm won't touch. With the drive all the way down, does the arm touch the gimbal?

No it does not touch at all anywhere up or down. I have seen this on two different forums with the same problem and no resolutions. I need pics of a working OMC cobra drive with the sensor functioning as it should.

Mine touches when the drive is about level, check to see if the arm has full travel. I’ve been using Sierra sending units & getting pretty good life out of them.

The sender is in perfect working order, it most likely has never been taken off(and neither has the gimble), yet for some odd reason it is no longer touching anything. Can you send some pics of yours?
