Re: 1992 Evinrude 50 ignition problem ?

Greetings and welcome to iboats,Dave.
I suspect fuel starvation,as the carbs are rumbling. It could be anything in the fuel sytem, from the pick up tube in the tank all the way to the reed block, or it could be compression.
To narrow it down, pump the primer bulb when the symptom surfaces. Is it soft or firm? Does the performance pick-up when you manually pump the primer? Does the primer bulb colapse or flatten-oout? That would indicatate a venting problem (tank not getting anything to replace the gas you used. If it has flattened out, loosen the gas cap, pump it up,and see if the symptoms doen't come back...If they do,then the anti syphon check ball is blocking-off the fuel, and not a clogged tank vent..
Bring a small spray bottle with mix in it, to spray directly into the carbs, and see if it doesn't pick up momentarily. If it does, that particular carb is not operating. I know I've given you more than too much to look at in one outing..But really, at this stage, it's that diverse.
Let us know what u find, what improves performance, and anything that made it worse (and it could be worse).
You may have to bump this up by the time you get back with the results, but there are many helpin-hands here.
