1992 Force 150 conversion

I don't have the serial number of my Force but here is a pic. I bought a 2008 Merc 150efi to replace and am just trying to get the parts for conversion over winter. The serial number of the Merc is 1B553541

I found a 8 pin to 14 pin adapter for mercury wiring harness, does anyone know if this will work for me or do I need new controls?

As well, the new motor has sea star hydraulic on it, can I use the standard steering in the beginning or do I have to buy the helm and new lines and hook this up?

I think you need the steering system.It's SO much better than the other.Really worth the cost!!!
The wiring harness probably won't work either.
