I have a 1992 Force 150. The battery cables were crossed a few weeks ago and the convertor was blown. I purchased a parts motor and replace it. Works great but now it will not shut off. Could this be a bad part or antoher problem?

another problem.

The motor stops when the magneto wires are grounded out, stopping the spark.
It can be grounded out by the safety kill switch, or the ignition switch.

If the kill switch works to stop the motor, but the ignition switch does not; you have a wiring issue at the ignition switch, or the switch itself is bad.

If neither the kill switch or the ignition switch works, the issue is likely a wiring issue on the motor. Likely a wire came loose.

If you have the thunderbolt ignition, likely the black/yelo wire came loose.
If you have the blue cd module ignition, likely the black/yelo or the blue/black wires have come loose.
