1992 ford 5.0 302 questions

I am a mechanic by trade and have owned 2 other boats but I bought this being familiar with omc and the 5.0.. first what model outdrive is used with this combo, it is a four winns horizon 190 2bl carb. Does anyone know the hp of this setup? The carb needs work so I am going to swap a 4bl carb (edelbrock marine 600) and intake. Also curious if this is a ford roller motor? Lastly any clues to speed of this boat/motor? I am coming from a ebbtide 170 with a 2.3 so I hope for some more power, but with tuning and right prop that boat was decent for its size.

Howdy,

You can tell what model you have by looking at the actual engine model (should be on the engine someplace)

If it really IS a 1992, It should be something like: 502APLAMK........ go to http://epc.brp.com to view other models.

It appears that ALL the 5.0L engines in 92 were coupled to Dog-clutch Cobras.



Understand that most ALL boat manufacturers frequently use "last-years" model engines and drives so check other years too...
