I was going to place this thread in the 'Steering & Controls' forum, but thought the Evinrude/Johnson forum might get a bit more traction. 
Anyway. My 13 foot Boston Whaler with 25 HP Evinrude OB (short shaft) is in need of some control box refurbishment or replacement. I'd like to either get some replacement parts or perhaps a new control box all together. (I don't have the Model # of the engine, but am fairly sure it is a 1992 model)
My challenge is that I am not much of an expert when it comes to outboard motor remote controls. Here are some pictures I grabbed off the web of what the control box looks like (it is side mounted, has ignition key, and the red/round connector to the engine.

I'd like to see if there are some part number listings for the controls of that era, but have yet to find anything. I did find one part # reference ( 432716, and/or 175945 )
I can buy some used and even a NOS control boxes that looks like the one I have. The cables are OK, probably just need some TLC, but wanted to make sure I know (better) of what I'd be buying.
I am also wondering if there are any new(er) remote controls (BRP branded) that would retrofit to the 1992 connector and the cables?
