1992 MerCruiser Alpha One 3.0 Litre /LX

I have a 1992 Excel with a MerCruiser Alpha One 3.0 Litre /LX engine. Does anyone know what size bolts hold the alternator to the engine?

The serial number on the engine is OF270180

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... There's 2, of different sizes,....

The jamb bolt is probably 5/16" x 1", or 3/8" x 1",....

The main bolt, is 3/8" x 'bout 4", or 7/16" x 'bout 4",....

Why ya wanta know,..??

Thank you for the information,

I had my engine cover off this weekend and noticed that the 3/8" x 'bout 4" main support bolts were missing & I wanted to replace them. I think I am going to lock tight the nuts on this time.

Ayuh,.... Use self-lockin' nuts or lock washers,....

Once tightened, those rarely loosen,....

Loc-tite can bite ya in the butt sometimes,...

I'm guessin' somebody forget to snug it down the last time,....
