Hello to the forum. :)
I just started work on my newly purchased pro 16 and am having difficulty with the livewell. The inlet from the pump is intact but the drain has been plugged with sealer. I have not found any discharge or overflow plumbing at all. How was this well plumbed when new? I would appreciate any input. Also I would like to know anyone else who is using this model boat because there are other issues and questions.

Thanks,
Lee

Re: 1992 Pro 16 (not V) Need Plumbing help

Not that I enjoy talking to myself but here's what has been discovered thus far.
I removed the well this morning and found a filmsy drain pipe that formerly went to a drain on the starboard hull. The plastic fittings have been removed and the hull was sealed up with silicone sealer.
SO, after removing all the goop I will restore the well to its former glory. About the overflow - was there some type of overflow tube in the drain? If so how did it work to drain the well? I am thinking about just installing an overflow drain to the starboard hull. I would welcome any feedback or other information about this. The livewell pump is toast and I would welcome any information about replacement.
UPDATE:
I have removed the deck and found lots of wet flotation. It will dry in time. The problem was the flimsy tubing on the drain. I will replace it with something more substantial. After cleaning all the sealer off the fittings, it is clear that a section of 3/4 " schedule 20 PVC pipe will serve as an overflow tube/drain stopper. It is a tight seal but removable. Now all that's left is finding a pump that will fit the space available and some good tubing that will last another 20 years.
