I bought this motor and the owner said it just shut off going down the lake around 60 mph. I bought the motor. After looking this motor over I found a small crack in the crank case area. It is on the right side starting from bottom of middle cylinder up the side on crank case to fly wheel cover. Even the plastic fly wheel cover has a crack. I sealed the crack temporarly and hooked motor up and it started and run perfect for 5 miniutes and shut off as if key was turned off. It would not restart until the next day and did the samething. The compression is 119 119 116 109 112 106. Not perfect but exceptable.
Would this be considered just a parts motor?
Is the WHR 175 Rare and whats great about it?
What makes this shut down?
The crack and shutting down seems to be 2 issues doesn't it?

Its a parts motor as sounds like center main on crank have took a dump. Crank has tried to push its self foward and crack case. Some one most likely tried to hot rod but over 6000rpm is death to these engines unless properly modded. It not rare , just a limited series different color and decals all that makes it special..my area would be worth about 750.00 as is
