I have a 175hp evinrude and had problems last summer. I would take the boat out and start it up, it would run for like 10 mins fine and then once it heated up I would lose spark in all cyclinders and half to wait a good half hour to restart it to get back to dock. Any ideas on what could be wrong, by the way I am not to mechanically inclined.

if i had to guess it sounds like a power pack problem they many a time tend to malfunction when the engine heats up

Is that something that a novice can fix or should I pay the high labor fees at my local dealership? How much does a powerpack usually cost?

before you nstart changing parts make sure thats the problem. buy yourself a seloc repair manual for your engine. it gives you step by step procedures for troubleshooting your engine.
