I am looking at a 1993 johnson 25 Electric, Long, Tiller. For a 14' boat rated for 40. 25 seems like the biggest motor that is still portable (already have a 9.9)

What should I look for besides the usual:
general apperarance, compression, etc.

do these run 100:1 or 50:1 (would like to use same fuel tank with 50:1 merc adaptor of course for hose)

i previously owned a 90hp evinrde and liked it.

any input appreciated

WWYC na7,

That is a very good engine.

The fuel/oil mix is 50:1

I would try before you buy. An easy starting and smooth running motor is always a good sign.

50 to 1 is the correct ratio.
