Guys... Engine has spark, 120psi compression and all 3 carbs are getting gas!!! What else would make it still run like its in slow mode?! I disco'd the temp sensor and tried to rev w/out it.. and nothing.
Since I am working on the engine, I decided to TRY to take off the lower unit tonight.. OMG! I cannot disconnect the drive shaft!! SELOC says to remove a cotter pin.. what?! I removed the fuel pump.. amongst other things, and I can see the shaft coming up (underneath the engine of course) and a clamp that is holding the gear linkage shaft.. then I see a small pin that goes thru the shaft (to the LU).. IS THAT the small pin that I have to remove to get the LU to drop?! If so, HOW?! Is there an easy way to do so? This seems like a lot of work for something that is supposed to be routine maintenance...
