ok...some background.
The engine side of my wiring harness was shot. I bought a used engine-side wiring harness that looked to be in good condition. (ok..at least faar better than my existing engine-side harness)
However, the used harness I bought has 1-LESS pin on it.
The lady, who really knew her stuff, said I didnt need the extra wire to run.
-----------------------------
Ok...mebba I asked the wrong question...cause I didnt ask what it DID do.
Anywho...after installing the harness, I was so happy when the motor fired right up. Wootness!
Of course, only then, when i turned the key off did I discover that the motor does not turn off with the switch now.
Staring at the wiring diagram from my manual doesn't really help me because I've drifted off course from 'original'.
What I CAN say that what is missing is one of the big-thick pins...which sadly, does strike me as 'odd' if its not needed to run. (or stop).
i'm guessing its a ground connection thats missing which shorts out the ignition...
Does anyone have any insight as far as what to do to work again?
Thanks
Matthew
