1993 C85TLRR pole count for tach gauge question.

Just got my official Yamaha Tach gauge off yahama's website using the official part (6Y5-83540-14-00). What I got is rated for 4-6-12 poles. I count 8 poles on the motor (93 85hp C85TLRR) however under the flywheel (maybe I'm missing something here :facepalm. What should I set the gauge as? It's currently set to 12 poles.

Any ideas out there? I'd hope the Official part for the motor wouldn't be wrong.
