Hi everyone,

Ive had this engine for about 6 months. I bought off of a guy who seemed to know his stuff. I hooked it up to my Invader and its been running fine EXCEPT of a few issues.

1. In the morning, it starts for about 1 second and then dies. I do the throttle thing on the throttle handle but nothing. Finally, after bout 15 minutes, it magically fires right up.

2. When I squeeze the bulb, it gets hard, then all of a sudden, it goes soft, then hard, then soft. WTH?

3. Yesterday, it ran fine. Started up after 5 minutes. Ran to a local fishing spot, fished for about 30 minutes. Then I started it up, pushed the throttle forward and it died. Then i got it started but it only went to 4000 rpm's (WOT is 5000). This lasted for a couple of hours until I put her back on the trailer and took her home. It never got to 5000 rpms all day except for the morning ride out to Point Loma.

Is this a dirty engine? Clogged carbs? will Sea Foam help? is this a fuel pump issue?

It has a new fuel tank and lines fyi.

Please let me know.

thanks.

Check your fuel system all the way from tank to engine.
Anti siphon valve (fixed tank), hoses for leak, bulb, filters.
Try a separate tank hooked directly onto the VRO pump (bypass any quick connectors).
Until you are sure the fuel system works properly, use a 2% oil-mix in the tank.
