Hey all, I have a 1993 Evinrude 115 mod# E115TLETS. 2 days ago engine ran fine as always. Today when I try to start it it will fire right up, but soon as I let go of the key she dies. I'm kinda in the middle of fishin a contest so any info you might have for me on a short notice would be greatly appreciated..

Yea I kinda figured something shorted. I did check the kill switch and it seems to be good. Guess I'm divin into the wiring with a continuity tester and ole fashioned test light this evening. Hope to figure it out by mornin to get back on the water. Thx for the fast reply.

try disconnecting the big red plug under the cowl and jumping the starter solenoid..you will have to choke it out to make it stop, remove carb cover and use a towel to choke it out. this will help you narrow down your short.

I will try that this morning. Had some storms move in yesterday evening so I didn't get to it. I will post what I find. Thanks again.

OK we got it fixed. It was actually nothing I don't think either of us thought of at the time. Turns out the oil tank was empty and the horn never sounded other then it normal one short beep to let me know it was working. I replaced the level sensor and filled her up and whola, back to a great running motor. I do appreciate the advice as with the symptoms I thought for sure we were on the right track.
