Hi. I have a 93 model 150 that is leaking fuel between the plastic carb base and the aluminum intake. The carbs were rebuilt last year complete with new needles and seats. The float heigths were set according to manfacuter specs and ran great all year. I find it hard to believe that all 6 needles would be leaking by now. The formed seals were also replaced during rebuilding the carbs as well as replacing the intake and manifold (engine side) seals and gaskets. The fuel is delivered via fuel rails attached to the intake side. The fuel leaks are along the sides of the joints where the back of the carb attaches to the intake. Two seem to be worse than the others, but they all are leaking....and i mean enough to cause a good, steady stream from the cowling. Any input and advise is greatly appreciated. I'm planning on pulling one of the carbs back off again this weekend to see if I can find something.
Thanks.

Sounds like either the formed seals were not seated OR the carburetors were not tightened properly.

I tightened the bolts a little and tried it again with about the same result, not quiet as bad, but still leaking. I pulled one of the worst ones (top right, facing the engine from the front) and checked the seal. It appeared to be ok. I replaced the seal with a spare I had and that did not make any difference at all. I'm worried about the plastic carb bases being warped and bottoming out before the seal gets pressure on it. If that's the case, then it means new carbs but again, I don't see how something like that can happen to ALL 6 carbs and happen while sitting for the winter.

The plastic can warp, try sitting it on a plate glass and see if theres any wobble. Overtightening could cause that.
If thaTS the case I'm sure theres a cheap solution, maybe cut some gasket or a bit of sealer.

FOLLOW UP - I removed all the carbs and checked the pre-formed O-rings. All appeared fine with no kinks or tears. Added small amount of sealer (using toothpick) to both sides of teh O-rings and installed the carbs. No leaks continued and all is well. Thanks for everyone's help.
