looking for what people think of them have read a little on here about them. but there is not a whole lot of info. is this a good motor? what sholud i keep an eye on. it s 93 and has a fresh rebuild, 140 lbs on all 5 cylinders cold and has been sitting for a few years. anyway just looking for pointers on it.

The lower unit and midleg are the same as all the other Force engines over 75 HP. I just never liked the look of that 5 cylinder engine, that's just me, but I have not heard a lot of complaints about them, so I suppose they are about as reliable as 4 cylinder Force engines.

They did make them in two different displacements: 3.375 bore in 1991 to 1994 and 3.3125 bore in 1989 and 1990. If it were me I would prefer the bigger bore engine, for the cubes, not because it is newer.

Make sure you run double oil for the break-in period.

how long is the breakin time and any sugestions or thoughts on breaking it in?.. i have never broke in a outboard but have rebuilt a few car and motorcycle engines.

Lots of info here in the forums on breakin procedure.
most important is double oil for 10 gallons of fuel.
Keep rpm below 2000 for a couple hours, then gradually increase over the next 6 hours, don't stay at one rpm all the time, vary it.

I would spray some oil into the cylinders before you start it up for the first time.
