1993 Force 50hp ?whatisGood Compression?

I am looking to buy an 18' Starcraft (aluminum) with a 93 force 50hp and was wondering what correct compression should be for that model. is that vintage force motor reliable? is it a chrysler or a merc? is there any known frequent problems with those motors

Sounds like that boat is under powered. I would stay away from force on a boat like that. you will find that you will only have two throtle positions. Idle and wide open. With that kind of work load on that little of a motor it is safe to say that it will be on it's last leg. Even if the motor is in great shape I know you won't be happy with the performance of the boat.

The boats hopelessly underpowered.......50 force not that good of motor to begin with and age aint making it any better.....run away!
