Guys, I checked the archives already So go easy on me! Steering is frozen, outboard pivots with steering arm disconneced. I loosed the big nut on the cable starboard side, with the big nut backed all the way off I can turn the helm and watch the cable, or part of the cable retract from the tilt tube.

I'm confused if the cable moves in and out of the the tilt tube what's stuck? the arm is alll the way retracted I've soaked the tube with Aerokroil best I can any pointers guys

I'd love to have someone that knows Jack S fix this but they're all booked for a month

I have a Clymer............ it's worthless

Frustrated new used Boat owner

on the port side of the motor... you need to diconect the arm from the motor to the cable shaft.. take the large nut off the tilt tube& the cable should come out.. some motors havethe be removed from the boat due to clearance/ boat issues,,,replace the cable...
