Bringing my old 135hp back to life after sitting 15 years. Rebuilt carbs and fuel pump, motor starts and running good. Worried about oil injection status, so following Merc manual I hooked to premix gas and did oil flow check. Manual states at 1500rpm oil flow should be 6.8cc after 3 minutes, with link arm connected and flow should be 17cc with link arm disconnected. I get 17cc in both cases! Linkage adjustment is dead on the alignment mark, when connected, I remember this motor was smoking a lot when last used 15 years ago. Any idea what could cause the flow to stay at max flow rate? I have not gone into oil pump at all yet.
