i have a 93 monark aluminum 17' bass boat w/ 70 hp force that blew up, im going to buy a new motor BUT i want a little more power for pulling a skier (the 70 did ok but it was under a load when i was pulled, but it did do ok) but it is only rated for a 75 hp. transom looks good and everything. should i go w/ a 75 hp or what i want, which is a 90 hp???

by the way it has a 16 pitch ss prop. should i get a 75 w/2 props, one to pull with and one to get max speed (to get to my fishing holes fast)or just put a 90 hp on it

Hi Bob-o p,

I would go with the 75 & a pair of props. The 90 might sound like it would be more fun but you will likely run into insurance problems and may run into DNR legal issues if you "OVER" power your boat.

This is an area of HUGE debate and I'm sure others will come along who disagree with me.

It is YOUR decision to make. Please keep my points in mind when you finally decide

Good Luck
HAVE FUN!
