Hi, we have rebuilt the engine outside of the boat, replacing distributor, starter, valve covers, spark plugs, alternator (fore looked good!).

Now it is standing on a wood platform, and we are not sure, how to wire it correctly to start it?

Let me know if more is needed

Thanks!

I have just opened the link and checked - I can see 7 pictures.
It is possible the upload via phone from my friend's wifi was slow, not everything was uploaded when I posted the link? Try again please?

I think you need to start with a wiring schematic for that model, unless someone on here has that its hard to say other than the most basic things
And get rid of those old exhaust manifolds they are so rusted that the joint between the manifold and elbows will not seal and will let water in the engine

Using a sander will make it look nice but will not be flat. If it was put on a lathe this would work, otherwise would need a flat file but that would take a long time

Thank you! that should definitely help. We will look for a machine shop that could resurface it cheaply.

Is there any videos, showing how to connect water intake, fuel supply etc, while on the ground outside boat, to start and test the engine? I searched youtube long and hard, only found generic 2 minutes videos showing a really quick setup look around and running engine, with no understanding how to connect all those things, would be nice to also know how to connect rpm, temprature guages etc..

I ordered these spark cables on amazon, hope they are long enough:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000CQ6J98/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_YYdnFb7KK7QBR

Couldnt find anything 351 specific that is NOT 90 degree angle at the spark plugs.. those don't fit in, so its funny sellers list it as compatible on many wire kits..

Don't know if the wires will fit, don't know what motor they are for. Do know that marine wires need to be longer because they go under the manifold instead of over

Take the hose that would come from the outdrive going to the thermostat housing and connect the garden to it.

The pic below are for a Merc but you will wire and start the same way

It turns ON when ignition turns ON.
It should turn ON when key is first turned to ON, then turns ON again once the motor starts turning over

Thanks for all information, we still havent tried to start it, my partner was too busy with work.
Right now I am trying to find the correct fuel filter, and I cant!
The old one mounted was a NAPA Gold 3247, but NAPA is closed today.
I went to Canadian Tire, and they dont know what is the matching one.

According to MarineEngine.com, it should be OMC 0502905 - they found that number in their system, but say they dont sell it.

Any idea how to find a matching filter sold in Canadian Tire, so to be able to do this today, while my partner has time?
If we put it off, it may take a whole another week to get to it.

Thanks!
