I have a 1993 omc cobra 4.3 v6. Had the boat in the shop due to ignition failure. When I got it back he said the tach was bad so he unplugged it from the back of the distributor. Whenever I tried to plug it back in it would want to stall the motor, even with no wires plugged in to the tach. Chased the tach wire and found out it goes to the shift assist module. First time taking the boat out I backed it off the trailer and when I put it in forward it just kept going backwards and would not go into drive. My thought is the shift assist module is bad. What's your guy's thoughts on this? Please let me know I would love to have this thing on the river. Thank you
