I recently aquired a 1993 Rinker Captiva 170 with a Force 90. I traded a 1990 Raven CC 195 for it. I think the Raven was worth more but I like the ease of pulling and handling the little and light Captiva. Contrary to everything I keep reading about Force engines my 90 seems to run great. I'm not sure it is propped right as I am only getting about 4200-4400 rpms at full throttle with a near max load (4 people and full cooler) and about 4600 or so rpms with a lighter load (3 people). It gets up on plane pretty quick but speed tops out around 35 mph. I am going to take the GPS this weekend to get a solid number. Not exactly sure what pitch prop I even have on it now, previous owner said he thought it was a 19. Not looking for more speed really I just want the engine running in it's sweet spot around 5000-5500 rpm (please confirm this is right) when cruising full throttle. Any other 170 owners please share your setups. Thanks to everyone on this forum in advance.
