1993 Stingray

Hi all.

This is my first thread, post and boat.

I recently picked up a 1993 Stingray 606zp, 4.3ltr merc, alpha 1 for an incredible price.

The boat has not been used in 4 years. I know the person I got it from and he did do the proper winterization procedures before it was stored and the boat ran great.

I have been reading alot of the threads on this forum and there is more than an encyclopedia of info which is good because this is my first boat.

Question is: Is there anything specifically to look at with this particular stingray model?

Also the boat paint is cloudy. I know how to get it shined up and am not looking forward to all that but how can I tell if the gel coat is still on?

Welcome to iboats and to Stingray ownership. Go to the Stingray website and send your hull number and register there too, there is also some great info there.

In terms of your question, I would posted it in one of the top threads -- these basement threads on the boats seem to get very little traffic.

Hi. I am currently looking at a 1994 Sting Ray 606zp with the 4.3 Merc. I have never owned a boat and know very little about them. Have you found out anything specific regarding these setups? I am looking at paying $5000.00 boat and trailer. Does this sound reasonable. The boat ibelongs to a friend of mine and appears to have been well maintained. He is a mechanic and usually keeps his cars/trucks/motorcycles etc. in great shape. Thanks in advance for your help.
