Hello everyone,
As the title states I cannot get it to stay idling. I had replaced the fuel line, and gave it new spark plugs, I also did a seafoam treatment. The motor runs great, when I tested it on muffs I had gotten it to stay idling around 800 to 1,000 rpm. Once I put it in the water. It does not want to idle at all. No sputter.. nothing.. just flat cuts out. Could this be as simple as an idle screw adjustment? When it runs I have to keep the the controls up to feed it fuel. Once it goes under 1,000 is when it cuts out.

P.s. if it is idle screws. Could someone instruct me on how to do them with this motor? (Haven't really touched much and was scared to start taking things apart.)

Simple facts for you.----There are no idle mixture screws shown on your 112 HP motor.----These motors are famous for broken piston rings.----Post the compression test results for your motor.

In addition, tops have to come off carbs and idle channels cleaned individually. Carb spray and soft wire or sturdy mono. To test operation, you must have back pressure (muffs won't do).

I will get compression results as soon as possible... and also wouldn't a broken piston ring show more issues than an idle problem? When I run it, It runs great. Great whole shot, planes off good, does about 33 mph or so at WOT. tops off around 6,000 rpm when I'm cruising. Also it sounds great, no sneeze, no bogging, purring like a kitten.

Sorry----Your inspection needs to start somewhere.-----A compression test is the first thing that most mechanics do.----If that passes the test then great.-----You will see many posts with ---" carburetors have been cleaned 3 times, motor still runs the same "----You would be sadly disappointed if you spent hundreds of $$$ guessing on ignition parts / fuel pumps / new carburetors with no positive results.----Maybe there is a timing issue , like bad flywheel key.
