1994 135HP V6 Merc No Spark

Morning All, yesterday whilst 30km off the Australian coast we stopped to watch a pod of dolphins ans the engine stalled and would not start again. We tracked it down to no spark and had to get towed in. Can anybody please advise troublshooting procedures for this fault? Sorry all- engine is 1997 not '94 as stated in the posting header.

Didn't inadvertently pull the kill switch lanyard did you (or someone else)?

You don't indicate if you electrical power or engine is turning over and not starting. Big difference.
Last time that happened to me, it turned out to be the harness plug on the starboard side of the engine, it had shorted across the pins.

Thanks All- the engine was turning over and the start was engaging. I went to have a look today and surprise surprise she had spark and started and ran fine! Not sure what to make of this now but as alway, suggestions and advice appreciated.

Might flip the kill switch a few times and then insure it's in the run position......like Silver said.
