Hi All, at last i got round to putting it on here.

We bought a 1994 Fletcher Arrowsport 16 with a mercury 75 for a really good price last summer. The engine is spotless inside and out. The only problem witht he boat is the deck. I'm really happy with the boat and suits our needs perfectly as its nice looking light wieght good on fuel easy to launch etc. So i want to do this to last as we have no plans to sell it.

The weather has been terrible here in the UK for the whole winter so i have only just been able to start the deck this week, and need to get it done very quickly to be ready for our spring.

I managed to strip it down a bit and get the seats and carpet etc out to get a good look at the horrers that lie benenth!

It doesn't look good but it also doesn't look too bad either.

Check out the photos and let em knwo what you think!

The plan at the moment is to pull it all out up to the front foot well area where the wood is good, then check the stringers, i have some 12mm marine ply waiting to go in whihc i think i will glass both sides cut to shape etc, i need to build a ski locker from scratch so any ideas here would be a bonus.

As for the finish at the moment im undecided gel coat? paint? paint with rubber bits (thats a technical term) just been looking at other threads on here to get ideas for that.

So here goes, imopen to all help and suggestions so please join in.

Re: 1994 16ft Fletcher deck replacment project

Hi all been slow to get started on this one sorry,

i managed to get the whole deck out yesterday and revaled what was below. The main stringers and foam look in good shape, the wood on the deck inside the ski locker looks quite bad but its mounted between the two main stringers so a bit tricky to cut out. The 4 main stingers look good the wood is fine, however the glass seems to have come away from the wood so there is air between the glass and wood? what should i do here, as the wood is fine? be good to get some advise? leave it or cut out the fiber glass and redo it.

there is a horizontal beam near the back of the boat, obviously quite structural, this is quite chunky maybe 24mm thick ply and rotton, this is a pig to get out as i cant get acces to the other side of it as all that is very good and doesnt need touching. ill try and get some pics soon.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas about whats best for my stringers, the wood is good inside i cut a small section out and seems fine. however the fiberglass is no longer bonded to them there is an airgap between the glass and stringer and moves if pushed gently! should this be ripped out and new fiberglass?
