Took my boat out today and it would not idle. Could start it in neutral if throttle was advanced pretty far. At home went through trouble shooting found no spark to the starboard three cylinders. According to my manual it appears the inner switch box has gone bad. My question is are the inner and outer switchboxes the same? I want to switch them in the morning and see if the spark switches over to the starboard side before I buy a new one. 1994 200 XL PTO Mariner ID# 0G000919

Thanks for any help

Yes, they are the same.

Disconnect the white/bias wire that connects the two boxes together and check for spark.

DO NOT TRY TO START THE ENGINE, only test for spark.

If all cyl's now spark then the box that always sparked has a bad bias circuit and must be replaced.
