1994 4.3 LX mercruiser closed cooling system Winterizing questions.

My question is what has to be drained w/ a closed cooling system? It's getting closer to winter and I dont want to freeze and break anything. I dont have a manual so I was hoping someone with the same set up can help me out. Thanks.

serial number and some pics. depends a lot on what type you have . half or full.

I think its a half system because I see water coming out of the exaust when on the muffs. But it has the heat exchanger and says closed cooling system on the motor cover sticker. Ill snap a pic and try to find the serial number tonight. Thanks

You will have water coming out the back no matter what type cooling system you have.
Serial number won't help either if you have an aftermarket system. Pictures are the best bet.

Half system only cools the block with antifreeze, a full system cools the exhaust manifolds.

Good to know. Ill snap a pic when I get home. I have allways had a outboard so this is new to me. I have done some serching and reading in the online manual but not finding the answers I need.

What is the serial number of your engine? You have the year of your boat posted, but engine year may be different.

Well I took some pics but they didnt turn out very well. After taking a good look at everything it looks like just a normal raw water cooling system. The engine cover shows a blue symbol next to cooling that seems to me would be water. I did not see a heat exchanger. What made me think it was closed is on the motor cover it said closed cooling applications only. Here is a couple pics for what they are worth. I snaped of pic of the serial # but I can not read it. I will get that later.
