At Idle and in neutral the motor works fine, you can rev it right up in neutral. Put the motor in gear and she make the attemp to rev up and then just goes back to basically an idle and just putts around the harbour. Motor is not runnning rough. At one point it ran good in gear for about 10 sec or so then died back to idle.

Any ideas? Dropping coils>? If I was dropping coils would the idle be rough, It sounds ok, just as you give it fuel it sound like you flooding it, which basically I am doing with it wide open and basically putting around the harbour?

Any input here would be great. I getting pretty frustrated with this problem

Thousands of users have been fooled into thinking a sick outboard is running "just fine" with no load on it. That is almost never the case. You are almost certainly making power in one cylinder only.

See what happens when you squirt some premix fuel into each carb when running.

Then check that you have a hot, blue spark on both.

Let us know what you find.

I know its been a while but tried your advice and sprayed the fuel in the the carbs and the bottom cylinder pick right up.

New carb kit and its fixed know, finally the headache is over, 5 months now
